In an Ubuntu 18.04 server, I was not able to rename network interfaces through proven config-management-applied systemd-networkd configuration working on all other servers.

The only difference I see between servers originally set-up by configuration management and this partially hand-petted machine is that the Ubuntu server has been upgraded from at least 14.04, maybe even 12.04.

How do I get notified, when a Linux machine equipped with ECC memory recognizes a memory failure? I'm interested in both correctable and uncorrectable errors.

• if a message is written to dmesg/the syslog, this is already fine, but I'd love to know what to look for
• installing additional daemons (like smartmontools for hard drives) is acceptable
• Nagios/Icinga monitoring would be another way to go
• not all machines to be monitored have IPMI

Systems of interest have Supermicro boards (X9SCM-F), regarding an HP N54L Microserver I'm just curios, but don't care too much. All systems run Debian or Ubuntu Linux.

Following this answers, configuring domains to autostart using virsh is easy; set aside they fail with following error message:

error: Failed to start domain [name]
error: internal error Network 'default' is not active.

I can start this network manually by running virsh net-start default after restarting the host. How to also autostart the "default" network?
